St. Francis students have the opportunity to improve themselves outside the classroom as leaders and athletes. As members of the swimming and diving team, students can learn the value of teamwork, sportsmanship, and spirituality. The St. Francis Aqua Knights won 47 straight Northwest Ohio District Championships (1966 – 2008), setting a national record and won the TRAC conference championship in 2013.
Head Swimming & Diving Coach
Brent Ransom attended the University of Toledo where he studied communications and swam for the Rocket swim team. While swimming for Toledo, he began swimming summers for the Greater Toledo Swim Club and eventually started coaching and managing the 13-18 age group. He took a coaching position with the Cincinnati Marlins from 2002 to 2009 and then accepted the position of assistant swim coach at Xavier University. Ransom hopes to "not only to see wonderful things done inside of the pool, but also prepare them for the years to come outside of the pool."
