COURSE TITLE: Gamemaking Prerequisite for A.P. Computer Science Elective for Junior/Senior INSTRUCTOR: Mr. Michael J. Blochowski GRADE LEVEL: 11-12 CREDITS: .50 TEXT(S): NONE Internet Access Required COURSE DESCRIPTION:This course will give the student the theory and practical aspects of the entire game development process. Students will brainstorm a game idea establish focus, determine the storytelling mode, analyze several games, and document the design and play testing scenarios. Students will develop skills in video game design and development, from concept to completion. Math and Science correlations will enhance the learning experience and broaden the student's sense of developing technologies in entertainment. The course will be a combination of lectures, and project work. The students will be expected to review some game, design a board game, write and analyze a game story, and design and implement a 2D game using Game Maker that integrates all issues treated in the course.
