Fr. O was assisted by the other Oblates in commissioning into service
the 2010-11 Eucharistic Ministers and Student Council Officers in the Opening School Mass. In
his homily, Fr. O spoke to all students about how St. Francis de Sales encourages us "to be friendly towards all, to live out the unique ethic of Christian love," while explaining what it means to be a student at SFS.

Mr. John Orozco, the faculty moderator of KSN, the St. Francis Knights’ Sport Network and his student staff are teaming up with iHigh.com - a Web site that will allow KSN to place live broadcasts, videos, stories, photos and team information on line for SFS fans.

Pack- the Pick -Up was a huge success as SFS students brought in more
pounds of canned goods than the prior year when we were the co- leaders
of the challenge. Canned goods weighed in at well over 1500 pounds!!
The food will be collected by The Toledo Seagate Food Bank and
distributed to families living in an eighteen county area in Northwest
Ohio. Go Knights!

Anthony Miller, Jr. presents Fr. Zobler with the mural paintings he was
commissioned to paint and on which he worked all summer. Fr. Zobler's
classroom does not have windows, but these murals will provide Fr. Z's
room with the detailed view. Anthony is a member of the Class of 2010 and will
attend the Pratt Institute to study art. Anthony graduated with high
honors, was a member of the National Honor Society, and received the "Excellence in Art Award" at graduation.

St. Francis de Sales High School has chosen Brad Britton as its new varsity basketball coach succeeding Nick Lowe who resigned after nine seasons. "We are extremely happy to have Brad Britton as our head varsity basketball coach," said Carl Janke, St. Francis Athletic Director. "He was an assistant coach for three years under Val Glinka on the 1983 State Championship basketball team." Janke continued, "He returns to St. Francis with many years of coaching experience." |
