Policies
Completing Service
All Sophomore students will be required to complete 20 hours of service.
Sophomores are required to serve 20 hours at the parish or church of which they are a member (their “home” faith community). Sophomores will complete contracts used for the tracking of hours and authorizing signatures.
All questions regarding service placement should be directed to the service directors.
Assessment
- All students will be required to complete 20 hours of service at their “home” parish or church (faith community).
- Proof of completion will be required
- All service must be completed prior to March 1st.
- Satisfactory proof of completion is required for promotion to junior year
- The pass/fail status for each student will be determined by the service directors and will be based on the satisfactory completion of service (including appropriate verifying paperwork).
Timeline
Freshman Year
Early May: Freshmen Theology teachers orient students to the concept of service as it relates to Catholic Doctrine and Christian Stewardship. Service Directors speak to Freshmen classes to orient them to the service program.
Mid-May: Students may begin service.
Sophomore Year
March 1: Due date for all sophomore service to be completed.
