St. Francis de Sales

Each student is required to submit a FULL TWO-PAGE double–spaced (approximately 1000 words) reflecting upon his experience as a volunteer in the placement of his choice. This paper must be submitted to the Christian Service Office IMMEDIATELY after finishing the service hours. Those students completing their service hours in the summer should submit their papers to the office or mail them to the Christian Service Office as soon as they have finished their service work.

The student will receive a grade of “Pass” or “Fail” on his paper depending on whether or not he has adequately completed the assignment.

The student should answer the following questions in his paper.

1. What influenced you to choose your agency (agencies) of service?
2. What type of service (s) did you participate in? Include the name of the agency, discuss your tasks, roles and assignments. Include information on the ages and genders of the people. State the kind of job you had, the time of day you would worked and how much responsibility you had etc. LIMIT YOURSELF TO NO MORE THAN 2 PARAGRAPHS.
3. Reflect on what you saw and experienced while you were doing service.
4. Did you encounter any problems or challenges? What did you learn about yourself?
5. Serving others requires Gospel Values. Which ones did your situation demand? Can you give a specific example that demanded Gospel Values?
6. Which values held by St. Francis de sales, our patron saint, did you recognize, model or work to promote?
7. Would you advise others to participate in your experience?
