Sophomore Retreats PDF Print E-mail

sophomores at a retreatEach Sophomore student is assigned to attend and required to participate in one of three Sophomore retreats which are scheduled to occur Tuesday, May 12, Wednesday, May 13, and Thursday, May 14, 2009. The retreats held at beautiful and historic Camp Miakonda on Sylvania Avenue. Students report to SFS at the usual time and are bussed to and from Camp Miakonda, returning to SFS at approximately 2:30 p.m.

The general theme of the Sophomore retreats is “From Boyhood to Manhood.” Consequently, one of the main goals of this retreat is to help and encourage the students to transition from a life that is often self-centered to one that is other-centered; from selfish behaviors to selfless behaviors; from being the responsibility others to becoming responsible for oneself and for others. As with the Freshman retreats, these goals are realized through common retreat experiences such as icebreakers, team-building exercises, talks given by members of the Senior class, small group discussions, skits, the sharing of a meal, prayer and reflection.

If you have questions regarding these retreats, feel free to contact Mr. Don Conry, the Director of Campus Ministry, at 419-531-1618 Ex. 318, or at This e-mail address is being protected from spam bots, you need JavaScript enabled to view it .
