Unrestricted Gifts & Named Funds PDF Print E-mail

There are two types of Endowment Fund gifts:

Unrestricted Gifts

These gifts enable St. Francis students to receive scholarships and/or financial aid. The contributions are directly deposited into the Endowment Fund and disbursed to eligible students.

Named Funds

A donor can establish a named fund for $25,000 and set the parameters for the type of student to receive the scholarship. For example, a named fund could specify that the award be given to a Boy Scout, or an honor student, or a freshman from a certain parish. Many of these funds are need-based.

“I am happy to (provide) this scholarship and feel confident that an education at St. Francis will serve a young man well throughout his lifetime. I am really excited about all the new construction and renovation at St. Francis; it should keep the school as one of the premier high schools in Ohio for some time to come.”

Jeffery Mallamad, Class of 1971 and primary donor of the Jeffery M. Mallamad Scholarship, a need-based scholarship
