2009-2010 Wrestling Staff
Head Varsity Wrestling Coach
 Mr. Dennis Marzec begins his first year as the Head Coach of the varsity wrestling team. With 13 years of coaching experience, and 32 years as a wrestling official, he comes well prepared for the job, and eager to get started.
Coach Marzec is a graduate of Woodward High School, and received his Bachelor’s degree in Elementary Education, and his Master’s degree in Administration and Supervision from the University of Toledo. Currently, he is a Captain in the Toledo Fire and Rescue Division.
Coach Marzec and his wife Dianna have three sons. Chad SFS ‘01 and West Point ‘06 is a captain in the United States Army, and just returned from Afghanistan. Brad SFS ’04 is an RN at UTMC and is a graduate student. Alex is a senior this year. All have placed at the State level in wrestling.
Assistant Varsity Coach
 Mr. Paul Luther was a two-time OHSAA State Champion at Cardinal Stritch High
School and wrestled for the Ohio State University for three years. He was a AAU
Junior National Freestyle champion and qualified for the Olympic Trials in freestyle
wrestling in 1976. Paul coached the freshman team at Cardinal Stritch in 1979 &
1980 and worked as a clinician at Tom Talbot’s Takedown Wrestling camps. Paul
has been Youth Wrestling coach for St. Francis for five years.
Assistant Varsity Coach
Mr. Keith Duhaime joins the Knight coaching staff as a varsity assistant. He comes with 15 years of coaching experience, including five years as the head coach at Sylvania Northview and Northwood High School. He has also been a wrestling referee for three years, and has operated
wrestling clinics for junior high students, and coached Biddy wrestling programs for 1st-6th graders. Keith has coached junior high cross country, and worked with the Junior Varsity Defensive and special teams at Sylvania Southview. He has worked as a color commentator for Buckeye Cable Sports Network for four years, covering wrestling and tennis
Mr. Duhaime is a computer applications teacher at Timberstone Junior High School. He has a B.Ed. degree with a minor in Art History, and an M. Ed. degree in Educational Technology from the University of Toledo.
He and his wife Jodi have two daughters.
Head JV Wrestling Coach
Mr. John Potrzebowski will join the Knight wrestling staff as the Head JV coach. He is a 2006 graduate of Bedford High School, where he earned two league championships, and qualified for States his senior year.
John is currently purusing a Dual Math degree from the University of Toledo.
Assistant JV Coach
Joseph Szyperski joins the staff as Assistant JV Coach. He is a graduate of Cardinal Stritch High School, and comes to SFS with 30 years of coaching experience—20 years at Start High School and at Ottawa Hills High School. He has been a Biddy coach at Cardinal Stritch and had his own Biddy clubs at OHHS and Start. He has also worked as a tournament director. In addition to coaching wrestling, he has been a football coach, girls softball coach and track coach.
He received a degree in Computer Programming from Owens Community College, and a B. Ed. from UT. He has been a wrestling official for 29 years. He does landscape designing and installation. He is looking forward to working with the Knight wrestlers.
