The Ohio Department of Health and the Ohio Department of Public Safety are both sponsors of this campaign to help you keep your son safe on the road. H1N1 Information Dear Parents and/or Guardians:
The various media outlets this year continually remind us that, as we enter the fall season, we also enter the flu season. In a school with more than 600 students, it is inevitable that some of our students and faculty will contract the flu. Presently there are somewhere between 5 and 10 Knights reportedly sick with the flu, and one of them has been diagnosed with H1N1. Following recommended procedures from the CDC and Lucas County Health Department, we encourage you to keep your son home if he is sick with flu-like symptoms. For most healthy people, H1N1 has not been any worse than the seasonal flu. His teachers will work with his counselor and he should check the on-line program, TeacherEase, to keep up on his schoolwork. All students should be conscious of what health care officials tell us, namely, that they should wash hands regularly and use alcohol based hand cleaner when soap and water are not available, cover their mouth and nose when sneezing, do not share cups, water bottles or eating utensils and refrain from placing hands into contact with his eyes, nose, or mouth if they have not been washed. For our part, the maintenance staff will clean school surfaces to provide a safe school environment giving extra attention to restrooms, the cafeteria, locker rooms and showers. We will continue to ensure that all bathroom facilities are clean and provided with hot running water and soap. Here is some additional information provided by the Center for Disease Control. Here is some additional information provided by the Toledo-Lucas County Health Department . SFS will be having an H1N1 vaccination clinic Wednesday, November 18, 2009. If you are interesting in this for your son, please fill out this vaccination consent form and have him bring it with him. Medical Forms These forms are used by the school nurses. The Emergency Medical Form must be on file for all students in the building.
