St. Francis de Sales is one of the top performing academic Ohio High Schools based on the percentage of students scoring proficient on all areas of the Ohio Graduation Test.
The Ohio Department of Education recently released the results of the March 2008 Ohio Graduation Test which is required of all 10th grade students in the state of Ohio. In Ohio, 983 schools had 143,917 students take the test. There are five sections to this test, Reading, Mathematics, Writing, Science and Social Studies. It was reported that in 2008 only 50 schools (5%) achieved a 93% passing rate or better including St. Francis de Sales High School. Having 93% of its sophomores passing all five sections of the test, St. Francis de Sales outperformed all other private Catholic high schools in Lucas County.
