As reported in the 2009 Toledo City League All City Sports Program, St.
Francis de Sales outpaced all league schools in the number of male
scholar-athletes participating in athletic programs All-Academic
Athletes are seniors participating in varsity sports and maintaining a
minimum cumulative grade point average of 3.0. In a senior class of
only 137 students, 76 Knights have achieved All-Academic honors.
Father Ron Olszewski welcomed the audience at the Toledo City
League All-City Sports Night held May 7, 2009 at the Great Hall of the
Stranahan Theater. This event honors the outstanding athletes of the All-City
Teams in the Spring of 2008 and the Fall and Winter of 2008-09. Masters of
Ceremonies were Mr. Frank Corsoe and Mr. Steve Junga, sports editor and sports
writer, respectively, of The Blade. Miss Tricia Cullop. the Head Women's
Basketball Coach at the University of Toledo was the guest speaker for the
evening. Many Knights were recognized and honored as All-Academic Athletes and
All-City Athletes. See attached.
