Article I Name
The name of this club shall be the St. Francis High School Athletic
Booster Club. This organization is both non-profit and charitable and
adheres to all rules and regulations as prescribed by state and federal
regulations.
Article II Membership
Section 1. Who may join
Any interested parent, alumnus, faculty member or friend of St. Francis High school shall be eligible to join.
Section 2. Dues
The dues shall be $30.00 per school year for a family or individual membership as specified.
Section 3. Role of Parent Representatives
Parent Representatives of a team or sport are choen by the coaching
staff to represent the team/sport at all Booster Functions, and be the
go-between for parents who need something from the coach or Athletic
Booster Club. The Parent Rep will remain on Board for the entire
school/sports year.
Section 4. Membership Year
The General membership year shall run an entire sports/school
year-beginning with football conditioning through latest Spring/summer
sports event.
Article III Restrictions
Section 1. Interference in the schol athletic system
Membership in the A.B.C. shall not entitle any member to inerfere in
any way with the planning, policy, participation or coaching of any
organized activity within the St. Francis System.
Section 2. Coordination with the Athletic Director
All major activites planned by the Athletic Booster Club shall be
coordinated with the Athletic Directors so as not to interfere with any
athletic program or school event. Also the Athletic Director wil attend
each meeting as a school representative.
Section 3. Representation of the Athletic Booster Club
Only the President or a duly appointed representative shall have the
authority to spaek or act for the Boostre Club on financial, school and
other offical matters.
Article IV Organization
Section 1. General
- The Athletic Booster Club will consist of a President, a Vice President, a Treasurer, a Secretary and a school representtice.
- The Principal, the Athletic Directors and the Past President may at any time act as advisors to the Club.
Article V General Meetings
The Athletic Club will meet on the first Wednesday of each month
(except July), unless in conflict with a school or athletic function.
Parent Representatives may come to each meeting. Special situations may
deem additional meetings of officer conversations.
Article VI Election of Officers
Section 1. Election of officers
- Officers of the Athletic Booster Club are nominated at the
last school year meeting and confirmed by all officers or members
present.
- Members interested in becoming an officer are
encouraged to contact ANY Booster Officer for nomination. Any member
whose name is on the list of active members shall have an opportunity
to be involved.
- Each officer shall serve for one school/sports year unless otherwise decided.
Section 2. Quorum
- At any Athletic Board Meeting, there must be two-thirds of
the officers present to consitute a quorum for the transaction of
business.
- At all meetings, a majority vote shall prevail.
Article VII Duties of the Officers and Members
Section 1. Duties of the President
The duties of the President shall consist of, but are not limited
to: Presiding at all meetings established in the bylaws; have general
supervision, direction and control of the business and affairs of the
Athletic Booster Club; represent or appoint a representative to speak
for the Club at meetings with the Athletic Director or other school or
city officals, clubs or parent committees; assist and advise other
members and committees as necessary; enforce any rules of the Club and
have duties and powers usually vested with the office of the President.
Section 2. Duties of the Vice President
The duties of theVice President shall consist of, but are not
limited to; Assistant to the President, and in the event the President
is unavailable or unable to preside, to assume the powers and
responsibilities of the President. The Vice President shall have other
duties as may be prescribed by the officers of the Athletic Boosters
and the Athletic Director/s.
Section 3. Duties of the Treasurer
The duties of the Treasurer consist of but are not limited to:
- Collect all receipts and make deposits in the Athletic Booster Club accounts; pay all expenditures by check.
- The Treasurer or the President of the Booster Club shall have the authority to sign and endorse all checks.
- Any
financial records of the Athletic Booster Club shall be made available
to any member for inspection within five days of such a demand.
- The treasurer shall prepare and make available a written Financial Report at each Athletic Booster Club Meeting.
Section 4. Duties of the Secretary
The duties of the Secretary consist of, but are not limited to:
- Record, maintain and furnish to the officers the minutes of
all meetings of the Athletic Booster Club; carry on the Athletic
Booster Club correspondence; maintain Booster Club records; have the
Booster Club bylaws available at all meetings where the Club business
is being transacted; and perform any other administrative duties
assigned by the President or Vice President.
- Any records of the Athletic Booster Club shall be availbe online.
- Maintain a current roster of Athletic Booster Club members.
Article VIII Changing the Bylaws
Section 1. Method for changing the bylaws
Suspension, alterations and amendments to these bylaws shall be voted on only at an Athletic Booster Club Meeting.
Section 2. Required Vote
A majority vote shall be necessary to suspend, alter or amend any provision of the bylaws of this club.
Article IX Order of Business
The order of business of the Athletic Booster Club:
- Call to order.
- Read and approve minutes of the last regular meeting.
- Reort of the Treasurer.
- Reading of bills.
- Reort of Old Business/Unfinished Business.
- New Business.
- Adjournment and set new meeting.
Article X Rules of Order
The rules contained in Roberts Rules of Order shall govern in all cases to which they are aplicable.
Article XI Finacial Procedures
Section 1. Fiscal year
Section 2. Limitations
- No officer or member shall have the authority to make
finacial committments for the Athletic Booster Club unless authorized
by the President and a majority vote.
- Authorization will be
made by vote ONLY IF THE REQUEST FOR FUNDING HAS COME TO THE ATHLETIC
BOOSTER CLUB AT A PREVIOUS TIME IN WRITING.
- Unless otherwise
provided for, no Athletic Booster club Officer may commit any funds of
the Club without approval of the majority of the officers.
- The
Athletic Booster Club is liable only to the level of funding authorized
and determined by the last meeting of the school/sports year.
Section 3. Discontinuation of the Athletic Booster Club
It is the intent of these bylaws that, in the unlikely event that
the Athletic Booster Club should be disolved, the balance of all funds
shall be transferred to the benefit of the SFS Athletic Program and be
used under the discretion of the Athletic Director.
