Preparing for the Italian Dinner are the Peer brothers (L-R) Jeff '75, Dave '73, Paul '79, Jim '68, with their mother, Connie Sofo Peer, who oversees the cooking. The 20th Annual Italian Dinner was a huge success with a sell-out crowd. The Peer brothers and their crew were cooking all day long preparing the meal sponsored by Sofo Foods. Guests enjoyed a delicious Italian dinner of Florentine stuffed shells, tri-color cheese tortellini in Alfredo sauce, meatballs baked to perfection with a gentle blanket of red sauce, Italian breaded boneless chicken breast, and oven roasted vegetables coated in olive oil. The Italian feast was completed with cannoli, which are delicate pastry tubes gently stuffed with rich cheese filling.

St. Francis de Sales
High School held a Young
Alumni Career Fair over the holiday break while graduates were home for the
holidays. Over 80 young alumni from the classes of 2001-to current seniors of
the class of 2010 attended. Jim Stengle, class of 1972, welcomed everyone to
the first Optimal Career Strategy Seminar saying, “This seminar is all about
Knights helping Knights and we need to reach out to our young alums, providing
this service in giving them every opportunity to succeed.” He also spoke about
“Effective Networking Techniques-The Power of Who.” Stengle emphasized that
your network includes your friends, relatives, parents’ friends, friends’
parents, coaches, faculty, and past and current employers. He recommended
building a data base of these individuals according to your own system of
categorization. Stengle explained that
interacting with others is critical regardless of your occupation or career
choice. “It is both what you know and who you know,” said Stengle who is Senior

Ross Wilson picked up a tennis racket at an early age and he has remained involved in the sport. But Wilson's perspective is a little different these days from the times when he roamed the courts in successful style at St. Francis de Sales and Ohio State University. Wilson now spends much of his time instructing junior tennis players in the Columbus area at Elysium Tennis Club. He also serves as a volunteer coach at Ohio State. Wilson is the most accomplished tennis player in St. Francis and Ohio State history. A four-time Division I state singles qualifier in high school, he finished as state runner-up in 2002 and led the Knights to back-to-back state team championships in 2001 and 2002.
