Michael Dusseau, Class of 1962 PDF Print E-mail
Michael Dusseau was Awarded the outstanding volunteer of the year award for Cuyahoga County NAMI oprganization. National Organization on Mental Illness where Mike teaches and leads support groups for persons afflicted with mental disorders. Also volunteers for the Cuyahoga County Mental Health Board and won an award from them this year for contribution in a project for seniors in crisis which is a national pilot.

Ashey Fernandes ('89) recently was awarded a PhD in Philosophy with a concentration in Bioethics from Georgetown University. Ashley graduated from the University of Toledo with a degree in Biology and Philosophy in 1994. In that same year, he entered The Ohio State University College of Medicine, taking academic leave in 1996 to pursue graduate studies in Medical Ethics. He received a Master of Arts degree in Philosophy from Johns Hopkins University in 1999, and an MD from Ohio State in 2003. After pediatric residency in St. Louis, he finished the PhD degree from Georgetown University in July 2008. He lives in Dayton, Ohio, with his wife Shruti (a family practitioner) and his 14-month old son, Arav. He teached medical ethics and practices pediatrics at the Wright State University School of Medicine.

Keith Blanchard and his wife Amanda now reside in Fairbanks, AK. Keith took a new position as Director of Growth and Developement for a group of family owned funeral homes in Alaska. Along with this position, Keith is also a general manager of Northern Lights Mortuary and Memorial Park, the farthest north funeral home in the United States. Keith is also an assistant varsity football coach for the Monroe Catholic High School Rams who are in the first season of having a Varsity football team. Keith's wife Amanda is the event coordinator for the Catholic Schools of Fairbanks. Their two children, Nick (10) and Caroline (7) attend fifth and third grade at the Catholic school. They love it in Alaska and ask that anyone passing through to please contact them and say hello.

Father Earl Fernandes (SFS '90) recently completed a doctorate in moral theology at the Alphonsian Academy in Rome, Italy. He has been appointed dean of Mount Saint Mary's Seminary in Cincinnati and associate professor of moral theology.

Ron and his wife Sarah are proud to announce the birth of our daughter Elizabeth Claire on May 1, 2008. She joins her big brother and future Knight Nicklas in our family.

Aaron Kulwicki,, class of 1993 has just finished his residency in General Surgery at Mount Carmel in Columbus, Ohio. He will be doing a Vascular Surgery Fellowship at Good Samaritan Hospital in Cincinnati over the next two years. He married his wife, Erin in 2005 and had a son, Logan in 2007. He and his wife is expecting a second child in December 2008.

Navid McIlhargey was the Executive Producer of RockNRolla, a movie directed by Guy Ritchie and stars a host of amazing actors including Gerry Butler, Tom Wilkenson, Thandie Newton, Idris Alba, Jeremy Piven and Ludacris.  It comes out in October.  Try to see it!
 
New Job for Rob Solon ('85) PDF Print E-mail

Robert F. Solon, Jr., (SFS '85) was installed as Vicar of St. Thomas' Episcopal Church in Vernon, NJ by The Rt. Rev. Mark Beckwith, Bishop of Newark.  Rob was ordained as an Episcopal priest in 2007 after a successful career in information technology management.  He attended seminary in New York city and would be pleased to catch up with any alumni in the Northern New Jersey/Eastern PA/SW New York area.

Richard H. Smith, Class of 1961, has been providing personal, private counseling services for the Detroit tri-county area for over the  past 28 years. Richard specializes in addictions and the repeat drunk driver as well as drivers license appeal hearings. With offices in both Oakland and Macomb countiesm, Richard doesn't see Social Security in sight.
