TRAC Championship Wrestling

Congratulations to the Knight wrestlers who competed well at the TRAC Championships. Kyle McGibbeny 3rd place at 106#, Steve Welling 2nd place at 160#, Shelton Evans 1st place TRAC Champion at 170#, Zach Uram 2nd place at 182# and Sam Burns 2nd place at 285#.

Coaching Staff

Coach Dooley is in his second year as varsity head wrestling coach at St. Francis.  Coach Dooley is a graduate of Kenton Ridge High School where he was a four year letterman in wrestling.  He has been a head wrestling coach at Kenton Ridge High School and Greenon High School, as well as, a head junior high wrestling coach at Mechanicsburg Schools.  He also served as an assistant coach for three years at Kenton Ridge High School and six years at Mechanicsburg High School.  In his five years as a head coach at the high school level, Coach Dooley has accumulated 24 district qualifiers and 9 state qualifiers.  Coach Dooley has also coached under the direction of former Russian National Champion and NAIA Champion Miron Kharchilava for Team Miron based in Dublin, Ohio.

 

In his second year as the assistant varsity wrestling coach, Justin Kruczkowski returns for his third year with the Knights.  A graduate of Roy C. Start High School and the University of Findlay, he wrestled for the Spartans and Roughnecks respectively.  While at the University of Findlay “Coach Krucz” earned a Studio Art degree with a focus in Ceramics, during this time he was also a Teacher’s Assistant.  Taking a brief time away from the sport to further his art career, Coach Kruczkowski was a Studio and Faculty Assistant at the nationally recognized Arrowmont School of Art and Craft.  Upon returning he has been a contributing writer for buckeyewrestling.com and also served as an OHSAA certified official.  Previous coaching experiences include Head Strength and Conditioning Coach for the Blissfield (MI) Royals Volleyball team where he was also an assistant varsity and head freshmen coach.  Working back in wrestling Krucz was the assistant head coach for the DeVeaux Vikings helping lead the team to a Toledo City League title.  Over the years Coach Kruczkowski has been a clinician at multiple camps and clubs and has assisted at Soul City Wrestling Club, and currently is a coach at USA Wrestling’s Beat the Streets Toledo program.  When not coaching he enjoys time on Lake Wilson in Hillsdale, MI with his dog Tatum. 

 

This will be Coach Perkins first year coaching wrestling with the Knights. He is originally from Saginaw Michigan where he was a 2 time All-State Wrestler at Bridgeport High School. After high school he earned a full scholarship to play football for the University of Toledo. Coach Perkins played 4 years for the University of Toledo appearing in 43 games en route to winning 2 MAC titles and playing in 2 bowl games. He currently resides in Toledo with his fiancée Jessica Ford and their daughter.

 

Peter Ridder is back for his second year of coaching at St. Francis. He currently works for Teledyne and is in Information Technology. He was a onetime national qualifier for the Iowa Junior National Freestyle team. His senior year at Assumption High School he placed 5th at the Iowa High School State Wrestling Tournament. He went on to wrestle at Iowa State University for 4 years. Peter lives in Sylvania with his wife Kim.
