
SFS will be collecting outerwear coats, jackets, raincoats, winter parkas, etc NOW until May 11. Please bring in any gently used items and drop them in the boxes placed around school.

The African-American Club sponsored a clothing drive recently to collect slightly used pants, shirts and ties for students at Pickett Academy and Robinson Elementary. St. Francis de Sales' Jarrod Jefferson (football) and Toledo Christian's Melissa Green (girls basketball) were named scholarship winners during the inaugural event.Criteria was based upon "having an undefeated spirit-inspiring drive and leadership, having strong family values and a strong family support system, as well as a strong focus on education and community involvement."

As part of the Holy Thursday liturgy when the importance of service to others is the theme, Matt Kubiak, (second photo, left center) and Adam Spegele, (right center) were awarded the Youth Jefferson Award for their outstanding community service. They were selected by their peers. Dave Schlaudecker, Executive Director of Leadership Toledo (left) presented the awards. Anthony Taylor (right) was the student chairman of the selection committee. The theme of service to others was also demonstrated during the prayer service as St. Francis de Sales students took turns washing one another’s feet to demonstrate their willingness to humble themselves in service to others.

Congratulations to Trent Morrissey, senior, who was voted by the District 7 coaches to play on the City All-Star Team, Thursday(3/29) at Bowling Green High School against the Suburban All-Star Team. The City Team outscored the opposing team 160-104. Trent scored 10 points for his team. The All Star game raises money for scholarships.

Congrats to the efforts of the St. Francis students, as one of their Lenten projects, through Heifer International, the Freshman Class has purchased 1 sheep and a flock of chickens, the Sophomore class purchased 2 goats, the Junior Class purchased 1 pig, and the Senior Class purchased 1 llama.
